      Position Summary

      The Learning Differences Case Manager in the Student Wellbeing Office provides case management specifically to students who experience differences in their learning and consults with the Wellbeing and Counseling teams as a part of an interdisciplinary team.

      This position is part time at 20 hours per week and is hybrid. The Learning Differences Case Manager is responsible for setting a flexible schedule to address community needs, which includes working days, in the evenings and on some weekends.

      The expected hiring range is between $22,070 and $27,070 annually, contingent upon qualifications and experience.

      Requirements

      • Bachelor's Degree
      • 2 years working with persons with learning differences, including autism, ADHD and other forms of learning abilities

      Skills

      • Knowledge of well‐being case management
      • Ability to effectively work in a hybrid model

      Essential Functions

      • Provides case management for students whose behavior, academic progress, or mental or physical impairment indicate a need for assistance, identification of students’ problems and arrangement for needed services, both on and off campus
      • Provides advice, guidance, case management and information for students in distress
      • Provides well‐being and education sessions / community level social services to students in individual and / or group settings; including education in mental health, stress management, interpersonal relations and referrals
      • Creates and delivers outreach programming / community level social services for Rice students, faculty, staff, students and their families as needed, based on the current needs of the University
      • Maintains case history and programming records and prepares reports when necessary
      • Employee may be assigned or required to perform additional duties to the benefit of the department or University
      • Coordinates with other offices on campus to implement University‐wide policies and practices that proactively impact undergraduate student well‐being
      • Performs all other duties as assigned

      Additional Functions

      • Assesses students for academic and living accommodations
      • Provides referrals for services, programs, and assessments off-campus
      • Acts as the primary case manager for students with learning differences and primary referral from Wellbeing and other office across campus

      Preferences

      • 2 or more years of experience working with students on the autism spectrum in an academic setting
      • Knowledge of greater Houston community services/resources
