      About us

Bassett Road Surgery is a well-established training practice in Leighton Buzzard, a pleasant market town of 53,000 on the Grand Union Canal in South Bedfordshire. We are one of three practices in the town, and have a growing list size of 20,350 and dispense to about 10% of our patients.

The practice comprises seven partners and five salaried GPs working from purpose-built premises which have recently been extended and refurbished. We have minor illness nurses and complex needs matrons who work with our more vulnerable patients. In addition we have two clinical pharmacists and a full complement of practice nurses, HCAs, dispensers and phlebotomy staff.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
