      Job summary

      We are looking to recruit friendly, enthusiastic, caring, professional and hardworking staff to support our extremely busy practice in Didcot.

      To enable us to continue supporting our patients we really need some additional staff to help us, hence, this advert. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients through face-to-face contact at reception or through the calls we receive from patients seeking help and support. Having a friendly and caring nature is vital in maintaining a positive experience for our patients.

      Once you have the basics under your belt there is opportunity to extend your expertise and knowledge into other areas of administrative functions such as referrals, registrations, document management and prescriptions if it fits with your longer-term goals.

      Main duties of the job

      What will you be doing if you are successful:-

      Greet patients on their arrival and create a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere for patients.

      Deal with any queries presented at reception such as prescription requirements, booking appointments, providing advice on our systems of work.

      Booking patients into our appointment system such as blood tests, nurse appointments, post natals, baby immunisations along with various other style appointments. Help patients complete online triage forms for a doctors appointment.

      Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice such as emailing, filing, receiving and logging payments, filing and dealing with incoming/outgoing post requirements.

      Book and manage appointments for the clinicians, managing potential delays and conflicts between appointments.

      Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.

      Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies.

      Providing cross-team support when required to ensure effective delivery of practice services.
