      Job Description

      We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team in a hybrid capacity, working onsite four days a week and remotely on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This role involves assisting in the preparation and administration of payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of wages.

      Responsibilities

      • Assist in the preparation and administration of payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of wages.
      • Input and maintain employee information in the HRIS system, including government forms, employee addresses, direct deposit information, and earning or deduction adjustments.
      • Collect, verify, and process timesheets, time off, and leave requests to ensure accurate payroll calculations.
      • Support the administration of employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations in regard to payroll.
      • Help ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, company policies, and labor laws by maintaining registrations in all jurisdictions and researching tax discrepancies.
      • Generate and review payroll reports, assist with audits, and provide necessary documentation to internal stakeholders and external auditors.
      • Address payroll inquiries from employees and resolve pay discrepancies in a professional manner.
      • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to streamline payroll processes and enhance operational efficiency.
      • Document payroll processes effectively and make updates to documentation as needed.

      Essential Skills

      • Proficiency in payroll processing and data entry.
      • Experience with payroll systems such as UKG.
      • Knowledge of vlookup and pivot tables in Excel.
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
      • Good verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to manage time effectively, meet tight deadlines, and stay organized.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
      • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint); experience with HRIS/Payroll systems or a strong willingness to learn new systems is preferred.
      • Positive and proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow within a startup environment.
      • Customer service, banking, accounting, accounts payable, or other financial services experience is a plus.

      Work Environment

      You will work in a collaborative and dynamic startup environment. The role requires a self-starter who can handle ambiguity and take the initiative. You will be running payroll for scientists and research associates, and need to be comfortable communicating with analytical individuals to resolve any payroll issues that arise.       Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
