      Purpose:

      We are currently recruiting for an intermediate level Payroll Analyst. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Calgary, Alberta. You will be a subject matter expert (SME) for Payroll, HRIS and Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) functions, projects and processes within Canada.

      Responsibilities:

      • Review/approve weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls and redirect payments.
      • Review/approve third party remittance payments.
      • Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders to address, manage and resolve issues and queries efficiently and timely.
      • Review internal processes: identifying, documenting, and implementing improvements and changes where needed.
      • Support with payroll system implementation.
      • Perform complete data transformation prior to migration to payroll system.
      • Work with Project Manager and Payroll Manager on system upgrade and implementation and reporting requirements.
      • End to End testing and review of system updates and configurations.
      • Review internal processes and SOP’s; identifying, documenting, and implementing improvements and changes where needed.
      • Ensuring payroll system is up to date and in compliance with legislative and union requirements.
      • Audit payroll reports for each payroll run to confirm accuracy.
      • Reporting and reconciliation of payroll data.
      • Prepare year end government tax documents (T4) and various year end payroll reports as requested.
      • Respond to employee queries in a timely manner.
      • Create custom reports and analysis to support various business units.
      • Initiate and support process improvements within payroll to align with corporate strategies, working closely with internal stakeholders.

      What you will bring:

      Technical and Industry Experience:

      • Relevant years of payroll experience with increasing responsibilities.
      • Payroll subject matter expert (SME). Comprehensive understanding and solid working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and practices.
      • Knowledge and experience with application systems such as ADP GlobalView (SAP), Global Business Systems (GBS), PeopleLink, Ceridian Dayforce.

      Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

      Required:

      • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification, Canadian Payroll Association, required.
