      What Payroll contributes to Cardinal Health

      The primary responsibilities are to provide strategic direction in LATAM for all payroll projects and lead the LATAM Payroll operations. This position will be a key member of LATAM's payroll operations and service delivery model, and will cascade the global payroll strategy across multiple markets within the region. As a part of this transformation, the LATAM Payroll Manager will be responsible for driving process standardization and controls across the countries in the region to reduce organization risk, increase efficiencies and enhance the employee experience.

      Along with the key project activities, the Payroll Manager will oversee day-to-day payroll operations for LATAM countries to enable an efficient, consistent, and compliant payroll function. This will include the management of a team of payroll supervisors & analysts who will be responsible for delivering standardized payroll services within the context of local regulatory environments, resolving escalated employee payroll inquiries, and executing routine payroll activities in partnership with internal stakeholder and external payroll vendors.

      This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., People Service, in-country HR, Legal, Tax, Treasury, IT, etc.) and external Payroll vendors.

      Responsibilities and Accountabilities

      • Manage overall payroll data and processing accuracy for workers ensuring payroll data gets consolidated and appropriately submitted to Finance and Government entities (Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic)

      • Support the outsourced payroll vendor across of the LATAM Commercial countries or through an insourced operating model in Mexico, DR & Costa Rica.

      • Execution of accurate and timely payrolls with the outsourced payroll vendors across the LATAM countries.

      • Ensure all regulatory taxes are filed timely according to deadlines.

      • Development of robust processes, checklists, and controls to ensure payroll accuracy while partnering with Finance and Internal Audit to ensure audit requirements are met.

      • Ensure timely and high value customer service to employees, including developing and adhering to established SLAs.

      • Manage the payroll providers in region to ensure that they are delivering on their services and commitments, escalating performance issues appropriately.

      • Drive process improvements and automation across payroll platforms and processes to eliminate manual processes and risks.

      • Participate in testing of policy, process, and system changes to ensure timely and accurate payroll.

      • Support all SOX and regional audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

      • Coach/develop/support growth of team members including cross training.

      • Manage special projects as needed.

      Key Experiences and Requirements

      • 8+ years of experience as a payroll leader running payrolls in the LATAM Region.

      • BA/BS degree accounting / finance or related field.

      • Ability to speak and write in English and Spanish. Additional capabilities in Portuguese, preferred.

      • Technical experience with and knowledge of payroll processing in various countries in LATAM.

      • Experience working and collaborating in a cross-functional global environment required.

      • Experience working with and managing payroll vendors.

      • Experience with regional multi-language operations and regulatory environments preferred.

      • Familiarity with stock-based compensation programs as it relates to payroll processes.

      • Personal Income Tax and basis local regulations knowledge of LATAM countries.

      • Expat payroll transactions.

      • Understanding of the General Ledger process.

      • Ability to think analytically, work independently and perform detail-oriented tasks.

      • Experience working with Workday, ServiceNow, or other case management tools preferred.

      • Strong time management and organization skills.

      • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely via written and verbal communication both internally and with key stakeholders across the company.

      • Physical work location will be Mexico.
