- Responsible for the processing of weekly and biweekly payrolls for hourly, salary and salary non-exempt employees.
- Conduct a wide variety of payroll critical functions including review, preparation, and processing of pay data, verification and audits, payroll calculation error/exceptions and resolution, eTIME processing and reporting for multiple types of payroll cycles.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of payroll transactions.
- Prepare and generate required payroll reporting for processing and audit
- Research and investigate payroll issues or problems concerning payments, wages, and deductions and/or other related payroll items. Make or recommend necessary changes or corrections to resolve problems.
- Monitors email inquiries from the payroll inbox and responds in timely manner
- Prepares learning material of payroll functions and processes
- Assist in the efforts of computerizing manual procedures and promoting efficient use of resources.
- Identify and participate in process improvement projects
- Will be the back-up to the other Payroll Specialists that process garnishments, tax levies, child support, and other deductions.
- Must comply with Standards of Employee Conduct
- Knowledge of Accounting software, Human Resource systems, Payroll systems, and Microsoft Office including advanced formula functions (VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc)
- Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality of employee data and established data systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly dependable and self-motivated
- Ability to work both independently, as well collaborate as part of a team
- Customer-focused attitude and excellent communication skills with high level of professionalism and discretion

SUMMARY OF JOB
This position is responsible for the administration of the day-to-day payroll operations and accuracy of the payroll systems to deliver bi-weekly payrolls to all Deaconess employees. The Payroll Specialist III will conduct a wide variety of payroll related processing and activities for multiple types of regular and special payrolls. Will also act as a primary point of contact with employees for payroll questions and issues. May also support the financial needs of all of the other hospital departments as assigned by Management.
