      About the Unit

      The People & Culture Director Brazil will be responsible for defining Yara Brazil’s People & Culture strategy in line with the business strategy. The position will lead the team of HR Business Partners and analysts in Brazil, supporting the 22 sites across the country. Furthermore, the responsibilities will include ownership of union relations team and managing the relationship with the Brazil Works Council in coordination with the SVP for Brazil. Additionally, this position will be responsible to ensure that Yara Brazil is compliant with local labor law legislations and be the country People & Culture contact for ethics and compliance topics, and other country specific people matters.


      The position will report to the SVP Brazil and be part of the Brazil Leadership Team. In addition, the position will have a dotted line to the VP People & Culture Americas and be part of the extended People & Culture leadership team.

      Responsibilities

      • Be a strong business partner to the SVP Brazil and the Brazil Leadership Team.
      • Support SVP Brazil in building a strong team culture within the Brazil Leadership Team and in building a strong culture for the Yara Brazil organization.
      • Develop and implement the Brazil strategic people priorities in line with the Americas People Strategy and the Brazil business strategy.
      • Facilitate the strategic planning process with the company's leadership team.
      • In collaboration with the Regional Functional areas, ensure that Yara Brazil has policies and procedures to attract, retain and develop talent.
      • Manage the union relations in Brazil through the dedicated team for union relations and manage the relationship with the Brazil Works Council.
      • Be the contact person for Regional People & Culture team to provide input, guide and challenge initiatives and ensure that local needs are catered for either though the regional approach or through tailoring approaches to meet local needs.
      • Ensure the proper planning, organization, control and administration of compensation, benefits, union relations, payroll, training, development, recruitment and selection and internal communication activities.
      • Ensure Yara Brazil adheres to local labor legislation, including regulations related to DE&I.
      • Be an advisor and facilitator in the discussions of engagement surveys results.
      • Define and manage the budget planning of Brazil People & Culture team, ensuring cost control and the most appropriate allocation of financial resources.

      Formação e Conhecimentos/Skills

      • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Psychology or Related Areas. Post-graduation (MBA) in Strategic People Management.
      • Solid experience working within Human Resources or another relevant field.
      • Leadership experience.
      • Experience working in an international environment is an advantage.
      • Broad HR experience is an advantage.
      • Proactive, taking initiative and experienced in change management.
      • Strong influencing skills.
      • Good knowledge of Brazilian labor law and regulations.
      • Experience working with unions.
      • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
      • Strong English language skills is a must.
