Onboard new employees, completing all essential tasks post-offer acceptance through day one and beyond.
Provide impeccable service and support through accurate and timely responses to employees’ P&T-related questions.
Perform actions related to employees’ work and life events in accordance with established training and procedures.
Process unemployment claims
Conduct verification of employment
Data reconciliation
Partner with People Tech in updates throughout the year
Trouble shooting
Collaborate with P&T People Center team members and P&T SMEs to continuously improve and streamline the employee experience and certain related operations.
Write, read, and interpret technical HR materials, contracts, plans, policies, and related documents.
Participate in on-going training around effectively responding to employee inquiries, core subjects across P&T, and the use of case management tools and people systems.
Process routine system transactions in a manner consistent with established procedures and deadlines.
Perform all tasks and duties in accordance with established service levels (SLAs).
Suggest opportunities for process improvement and implementation of best-practice solutions.
Consistently applies strong analytical orientations, attention to detail, and business acumen.
Effectively models WGU leadership principles and cultural beliefs across all aspects of the role.
Maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and calm in addressing sensitive situations.
Promotes continuous improvement.

The work is performed independently under limited supervision and consists of tasks that may require discretion within established operational boundaries and procedures.
Problems and issues faced are unclear and may require some analysis to understand and resolve.

High school diploma
2-4 years Human Resources experience
Superb verbal and written communications skills
Experience entering and maintaining data within computers systems
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Products – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of help desks, including help desk support software, such as Service Now
Bachelor’s Degree
General knowledge of Benefits, Compensation, Payroll and Talent Acquisition processes
HR-related certification or degree or demonstrated progress toward such
ServiceNow or Workday experience
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
Pay Range: $21.87 - $31.68

The People &Talent People Support Specialist II is a dynamic and challenging role that meaningfully impacts Western Governors University’s (WGU) employee experience and People & Talent operations.
This role is part of a team that is responsible for providing answers and guidance to employees, encouraging self-service where appropriate, and supporting a wide range of behind-the-scenes functions vital to the delivery of P&T services, programs, and policies. The team works alongside and continuously collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout P&T.
The P&T People Support Specialist II is a great way to expand or build a career in human resources as it directly supports the employee experience, including recruitment, payroll, compensation, benefits, employee relations, diversity, people development and more.
