      As a People Consultant in the People Operations Legislative Team you will contribute towards key operational processes and controls which support our monthly payroll. You will also get involved when things don't go according to plan, analysing and resolving payroll system or data issues and undertaking data analysis.

      • JOB TITLE: People Consultant
      • SALARY: £37,548 - £41,720
      • LOCATION(S): Halifax - Leeds
      • HOURS: Full Time
      • WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

      As a People Consultant in the People Operations Legislative Team you will contribute towards the key operational processes and controls which support our monthly payroll. You will also get involved when things don't go according to plan, analysing and resolving payroll system or data issues and undertaking data analysis.

      You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple business functions including our 3rd party payroll provider, Group Tax and the People Platform Teams to ensure we deliver on our promises in a timely and accurate manner and meet our internal policy and payroll/tax legislative obligations.

      • Highly Organised in practice and thought - Follows a structured and logical approach when deliberating and ensures focus remains on relevant issues and evidence.
      • Curiosity – an enquiring mind, asks challenging questions, able to assimilate large amounts of information from different sources and identify issues.
      • Outstanding Communication – able to communicate verbally and in writing, listens actively and attentively. Confident to challenge and ask the right questions.
      • Confident in working independently and ability to self-manage a varied and fluctuating work load

      ...and you'll be able to demonstrate the following experience:

      • Good technical knowledge linked to Payroll systems, UK Payroll legislation or Workday
      • Proven technical and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and apply rules and logic.
      • Attention to detail and accuracy
      • Understanding of Risk management, including the need for, the design of, and the application of controls.
      • An aptitude for engaging in and contributing to problem solving.
      • Strong Excel Skills

      It would be useful if you also had...

      • Knowledge of HR practices and policies
      • A focus on learning and development, with emphasis on personal ownership and judgement
      • Experience of working as part of a remote team in a role that requires self-management
