      Overview

      Fairview is seeking a Performance Improvement Consultant to join our team!

      The Performance Improvement (PI) Consultant role in the Transformation Office is designed for an individual who will lead and support small to medium-sized projects focused on process and system improvement within 1-2 functional areas. The role entails collaborating with leadership, project teams, and operational owners to achieve desired outcomes outlined in strategic plans and project charters. The consultant will be responsible for driving process improvements, enhancing efficiency, and supporting the development of project plans for implementation, adoption, and sustainment.

      Key responsibilities include:

      • Supporting and driving strategic and functional area projects, ensuring alignment with goals and performance outcomes.
      • Collaborating with executive sponsors, operational owners, and team members to ensure projects are prepared for speed to implementation.
      • Advocating for continuous improvement and efficiency across teams, creating transparency in decision-making.
      • Working closely with project managers and change management practitioners to facilitate quality implementation.
      • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce burdens, and create value for customers/patients.
      • Coaching and developing others to support the successful adoption of change and improvement processes.

      The ideal candidate should possess:

      • Experience with strategic thinking, value chain analysis, A3 Thinking, Standard Work, visual management systems, and data analysis.
      • The ability to work autonomously while thriving in a team environment.
      • A focus on patient, family, provider, and workforce-centric approaches.
      • Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional communication, and the ability to balance financial stewardship and equity strategy.

      Schedule:

      • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period)
      • Day shift with no weekends

      Location:

      • This is a mobile position so the ideal candidate will be able to accommodate a reasonable commute for onsite work and meetings.

      Responsibilities Job Description

      Job Expectations:

      • Leads and facilitates process improvement project teams simultaneously to achieve improved outcomes through effective assessment, planning, coordination, facilitation, implementation, and overall management of the improvement event. Creates project documentation (i.e., documented workflows, procedures, standards, training material, sustainment plan) to support implementation efforts, spread to other areas, and hands off to the operational owner and project manager as part of project sign off.
      • Drives sustainability of the work by designing the framework with the operational team to ensure that the implemented programs and projects are adhering to standard processes and procedures, sustaining performance, and aligning accountability.
      • Supports the operating system which includes Daily Engagement System (DES), tier huddle process, leader standard work, and ensuring execution through operating system on performance dimension goals.
      • In partnership with Transformation Office leadership and peers, supports in development, and continuous learning of core Transformation Office Service Offerings
      • Adheres and contributes to standard practices defined by the Transformation Office and standard tools/artifacts.
      • Applies analytical/quantitative thinking to problem identification and solving along with sound with decision making.
      • Acts with relentless pursuit of efficiency and value creation. Engages thought partners across the organization that challenge status quo through innovation and technology integration.
      • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with sponsors, operational owners, and team members to become a trusted consultant and achieves organizational targets. Engages in frequent status updates and leverages issue escalation pathway as outlined in project charter and service level agreement.
      • Works collaboratively with, and proactively engages, Change Management Practitioners to support quality implementation, adoption, and sustainment of desired project outcomes.
      • Fosters a culture of respect for people and continuous improvement, lives the Fairview and Transformation Office Commitments
      • Knowledgeable of Fairview Operating System and incorporates process, artifacts, and training into project work.
      • Participates in work with peers and other departments to create an excellent understanding of workflows and interdependencies to identify and implement strategies to improve business outcomes.
      • In partnership with leadership, engages in and contributes to routine education and development of Transformation Office to multiply knowledge and skills to build a high-performing, sustainable team.
      • Participates in regular team and department meetings, contributing to a sense of community amongst the team and sharing best practices, performance, and service offering updates.
      • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. (i.e., CMS, DHS, The Joint Commission, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      Required

      Education

      • Bachelor’s degree

      Experience

      • 1-2 years of process improvement experience
      • Successful execution and leadership of projects with progressive leadership and with scope of work including site operations or service line
      • Utilization of the tools and techniques required to understand and analyze the current state and solve problems.
      • Implementation and improvement of the tools and techniques required to apply and sustain lean in the workplace.

      License/Certification/Registration

      • Lean or Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or equivalent work experience in Lean Organization

      Compensation Disclaimer

      The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
