Job Description

- This role will involve processing and picking pharmaceutical stock to be issued to the wards/ clinical areas in our ward stock distribution area, visiting wards to conduct a pharmacy top-up service and delivering medication to and from the wards on an ad-hoc basis. You will be using the pharmacy robot and WellSky computer system, whilst maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent e.g. NPA Dispensary Assistants Course) is required to be eligible for this post
- However training and enrolment onto the apprenticeship NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services will be considered for the appropriate candidate demonstrating the right skills and enthusiasm to pursue a career in pharmacy.
- To receive and sign for all goods arriving at pharmacy, check them against delivery note and copy order so as to ensure that they are correct (other than controlled drugs which must be presented to a registered pharmacy professional to check and sign receipt). To be able to identify problems with delivery and decide upon appropriate corrective action to resolve the problem in accordance with SOPs.
- To record details of deliveries both manually and in pharmacy computer system so that accurate record and audit trail of correct goods received, batch numbers and expiry dates match delivery documents, any credit notes and any appropriate computer system generated paperwork, thus enabling rapid and accurate batch re-call and audit trail to be carried out by technical and professional staff, in case of product defect or checks by Finance department queries.
- Monday to Friday - 9.00am to 5.30pm (with 1 hour lunch)
- Rotational Saturdays & Sundays incl. Bank Holidays 9am to 5pm (with 30 minute lunch)
- Late Night Rota
