Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team, working primarily with Medicare and Medicaid patients. This role involves handling Prior Authorizations, particularly focusing on intake and system setup before sending them to a review technician. Initially, you will be trained on intake processes, with potential training for review responsibilities in the future.

Responsibilities

• Handle the intake of MedPharm prior authorizations
• Set up prior authorizations in the system
• Send prior authorizations to the review technician
• Manage customer service interactions, particularly over the phone
• Control and redirect conversations as necessary during customer service calls

Essential Skills

• Data entry
• Pharmacy experience
• Pharmacy Technician certification (Cpht)
• Experience with managed care and claims
• Prior Authorization experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Competency in computer skills
• Ability to work remotely and independently

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Medicare and Medicaid patients
• Ability to handle calls effectively
• Capability to work in a HIPAA compliant manner
• Strong WIFI connection required

Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, requiring a closed-door setting with limited distractions to ensure HIPAA compliance. The candidate must have a strong WIFI connection and the ability to work independently. The work schedule includes rotating holidays shared with other team members. Lunch breaks range between 30 minutes to an hour. The role offers a competitive cultural environment with benefits including holiday pay, PTO, and flexibility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
