Job description
Job responsibilities
At Boroughbury Medical Centrewe recognise the scope and potential of Pharmacy Technicians and the contribution they can make to modern General Practice.
The face of Primary Care is changing, and we will support and mentor our Pharmacy Technicians to deliver medication reviews, research, reports, audits, contribute to QOF work, drive safety and performance in a busy, modern, General Practice setting.
Our current Pharmacy Technicians have gone on to undertake specialist practitioner qualifications in Diabetes and Asthma, they are reviewing long-term conditions, delivering health checks, administering flu vaccines, planning and managing their own workload (under the supervision of our GPs, nurses and pharmacists), and training and developing junior members of the department.
Individual interests and passions are encouraged to flourish and develop. We have a pathway for career progression, within a friendly, diverse and supportive team.
If you are looking for a more practical and hands-on role, we are the surgery for you!
As detailed above, we are looking to grow and develop our Pharmacy Technician team, and invite applications from Pharmacy Technicians at varying points in their careers, whether you are new to Primary Care or an experienced General Practice Pharmacy Technician.
Experience of working in a primary care setting would be advantageous, however full training, development and support will be provided to the successful candidates.
The Pharmacy Technician will need to have excellent interpersonal/communication skills and be able to work independently as well as part of our team.

About the company
National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
