      Job summary

      Boroughbury Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our multidisciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Paramedics, HCAs, Physiotherapists and support teams in a warm and welcoming General Practice setting in the heart of Peterborough.

      Recently awarded 'Outstanding' by CQC, BMC has a passion for education, training and research. We are keen to expand our Pharmacy Technician team and are seeking a qualified, full-time individual to come and join us.

      -MHRA/CAS alerts

      -Eclipse live

      -Cost effective switches

      -Clinic letters / discharge letters

      -Medication reviews

      Job responsibilities

      At Boroughbury Medical Centrewe recognise the scope and potential of Pharmacy Technicians and the contribution they can make to modern General Practice.

      The face of Primary Care is changing, and we will support and mentor our Pharmacy Technicians to deliver medication reviews, research, reports, audits, contribute to QOF work, drive safety and performance in a busy, modern, General Practice setting.

      Our current Pharmacy Technicians have gone on to undertake specialist practitioner qualifications in Diabetes and Asthma, they are reviewing long-term conditions, delivering health checks, administering flu vaccines, planning and managing their own workload (under the supervision of our GPs, nurses and pharmacists), and training and developing junior members of the department.

      Individual interests and passions are encouraged to flourish and develop. We have a pathway for career progression, within a friendly, diverse and supportive team.

      As detailed above, we are looking to grow and develop our Pharmacy Technician team, and invite applications from Pharmacy Technicians at varying points in their careers, whether you are new to Primary Care or an experienced General Practice Pharmacy Technician.

      Experience of working in a primary care setting would be advantageous, however full training, development and support will be provided to the successful candidates.

      The Pharmacy Technician will need to have excellent interpersonal/communication skills and be able to work independently as well as part of our team.

BMC is housed in modern, purpose-built premises, caring for a diverse patient population of over 45,000 patients across two sites. We have a very experienced and highly skilled clinical team of Doctors, ANPs, Nurses, Paramedics, HCAs, 6 Clinical Pharmacists and 3 Pharmacy Technicians.
