      Job summary

      Cross Counties Healthcare LTD are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Phlebotomist to compliment the role of the nurse and other Health Professionals and be an integral part and key member of care team.

      You will make the best use of clinical skills within the practice to promote well-being and maximise health gain for patients and provide a safe, high quality and accessible treatment room service to our registered patients. We value teamwork, mutual support and a friendly working environment.

      The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients, ensuring proper labelling and handling, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. They will work closely with physicians, nurses to provide high-quality patient care.

      Please note, this is a zero hours contract.

      Main duties of the job

      • Provide a safe, high quality and accessible phlebotomy service to the practice population.
      • Perform venipunctures punctures to obtain blood samples from patients.
      • Properly label, store, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and transportation.
      • Verify patient identification and medical records before performing procedures.
      • Educate patients on the blood draw process and answer any questions.
      • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and specimen collections.
      • Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a sterile environment.
      • Manage supplies and restock phlebotomy equipment as needed.
      • Assist with clerical duties, such as scheduling appointments and updating patient records.

      Primary Care Networks build on existing primary care services within General Practice and provide greater provision of proactive, personalised, coordinated and more integrated health and social care for patients.

      Primary Care Networks are small enough to provide personalised care but large enough to have impact on scale through better collaboration between GP practices and others in the local health and social care system.

      PCNs are led by clinical directors which are often a GP.

      About Our Primary Care Network:

      Cross Counties PCN formed in 2019. There are two-member practices that form

      the PCN, South Leicestershire Medical Group and The Billesdon Surgery.

      The PCN serves around 32,000 patients covering a large rural geographic area, which covers Thurnby and Billesdon in the North to Market Harborough in the south and from Great Glen in the west to the Leicestershire/Rutland border in the east.

      Cross Counties PCN works alongside member practices to provide additional services to the patient population.
