Checking patient identification against GP,Nurse requests and confirming patient agreement to the procedure requested.
Ensuring all specimens are in appropriate containers, accurately labelled and bagged ready for collection by the courier
Safely disposing of sharps, spillages and other clinical waste
Maintaining a high level of hygiene within own work area, ensuring that all equipment is kept clean and in good working order and reporting any problems identified
Maintaining and updating patient records in accordance with Practice procedures
Notifying the GP,Nurse of any significant patient issues or other anomalies
Liaising with and assisting the wider Practice Team as required to ensure a quality service
Attending clinical team and Practice meetings as required
Other related tasks as may be required, providing appropriate training has been given
- Previous experience within a healthcare setting.
- Qualification in phlebotomy.
- GCSE grade pass in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Previous experience within a healthcare setting.

Job summary
Hourly Rate: £12.40
20 hours a week
Your Main role will be to cover Phlebotomy services providing a patient friendly service as required.
Phlebotomists will be expected to provide a helpful and professional service to patients and healthcare staff.
The individual will be responsible for ensuring that the blood specimens are taken in a professional manner and that laboratories are provided with timely, high quality blood specimens taken in tubes that are appropriate for the tests requested.

We are a team of 7 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, ANP, Pharmacist, Nursing and Administrative team. We are located just off Junction 34 of the M4.
