Job summary
Rotherham, in line with national requirements, provides extended access to routine general practice appointments on weekday evenings (6.30pm 8.30pm) and weekends (8am -5pm). This is provided from five general practices acting as hubs in North, South and Central locations in the Borough. Appointments are available for patients registered with any of the 28 general practices in Rotherham with a range of clinicians, to offer the convenience of a routine appointment out of core hours. A GP will be present in the practice, providing medical cover and support for clinicians on all shifts.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of routine healthcare provision to Rotherhams general practice patients. Supported by senior Clinicians within the practice, they will deliver care within the boundaries of their role, focusing upon health promotion, prevention of ill health and the maintenance and monitoring of long-term conditions and screening activities.
They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and work under the supervision of the registered nurse and senior clinicians.

Ensure that workstations are cleaned and maintained after venepuncture procedures, in accordance with Infection Control and Health & Safety policies. . To liaise and communicate with colleagues when necessary.
