      Job Description

      We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will perform traditional phlebotomy duties with an emphasis on processing, centrifuging, and splitting specimens. You will also engage in high-level customer service and data entry using the LabCorp Touch system. The training program includes a comprehensive week of preparation to ensure you are well-equipped for the job.

      Responsibilities

      • Perform blood draws, focusing on this task approximately 70% of the time.
      • Enter orders and perform data entry.
      • Process and ship specimens, including centrifuging and splitting.
      • Clean and restock work areas.
      • Confirm patient information and ensure accurate medical records.
      • Provide exceptional customer service.
      • Handle blood draws for patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
      • Communicate with doctor offices as necessary.
      • Work in a fast-paced environment and manage a high volume of daily draws (around 120 per day).

      Essential Skills

      • Phlebotomy certification (CPT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
      • At least one year of active phlebotomy experience preferred.
      • Experience with data entry and customer service.
      • Proficiency in using the LabCorp Touch system.
      • Ability to handle venipuncture and blood draws efficiently.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience with geriatric and pediatric patients is preferred.
      • Hospital experience is beneficial.
      • Must be able to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

      Work Environment

      The position requires availability between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work in a laboratory and medical environment, primarily in a patient service center. The role involves standing for about 50% of the time and may require floating to multiple locations between Manhattan Beach and Newport Beach. During the initial two-week training period, you will work a 40-hour week. Training locations include Wildomar, Tustin, and Los Angeles, and accommodation will be provided if necessary.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $25.17 - $25.17/hr.
