      How You Will Contribute:

      As a Physical Security Specialist, you will operate as an individual contributor and team leader responsible for supporting Ciena’s global physical security program and activities. You will participate in the oversight of existing internal physical security controls and leverage your knowledge and experience to suggest new and innovate ways to protect the company. You will support our monitoring and physical security incident response operations. You will lead our ongoing supplier and contract manufacturer assessments to ensure adequate deployment and utilization of security controls and document findings, making recommendations for quality/process improvements.

      • You will provide physical security support to investigative teams, Crisis Management events and Information Security incidents
      • You will interact with suppliers, business partners, senior management and other members of the Workplace Security team using strong verbal and written communications
      • You will participate in the evaluation of Ciena’s global physical security posture for the continuous protection of personnel, buildings and assets including
        • Creating and maintaining building security profiles
        • Creating and maintaining physical security statistic data for process improvement
        • Assessing security controls at Ciena offices, contract manufacturer sites and warehouses and providing written/verbal recommendations for improvements
        • Creating, modifying, and deleting access control cards
        • Investigating access control alarms and coordinating with on-site personnel to identify issues and develop appropriate response plans
      • You will create and submit security reports for approval ensuring results of audits and security metric reports are presented factually, objectively, clearly, concisely, accurately, in logical format and in accordance with professional standards
      • You may be required to undertake domestic and/or international travel. The target percentage of travel time for this position is less than 20%

      The Must Haves:

      • 7-10 years of practical experience in project management, access control or CCTV operations, contract manufacturer/supply chain assessment/auditing, or other relevant experience
      • Excellent analytic and critical thinking skills
      • Excellent verbal communication, written presentation and report writing skills
      • Ability to maintain objectivity, confidentiality and integrity
      • Experience working in a multi-national, cross-functional team across all levels of the business
      • Knowledge of physical security controls (experience in ISO 27001 or other security frameworks will be helpful)
      • Familiarity with access control and CCTV monitoring systems
      • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), Power BI apps, Confluence, JIRA and workflow integration tools
      • Strong customer service focus with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external management and operational personnel
