What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a qualified physical therapist according to the physician's plan of care
- Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance
- Direct and assist patients in therapeutic exercises, gait training, and the use of assistive devices
- Observe and report patient reactions to treatments and any changes in condition to the physical therapist
- Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in team meetings and in-service education programs

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with an associate's degree in science or applied science
- Approved as a physical therapist assistant by the Physical Therapy Board of California
- Current CPR certification
- Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Licensed driver with a reliable form of transportation and valid automobile insurance

- Experience in a home health care setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Additional certifications related to physical therapy practices
- Bilingual skills to enhance communication with diverse patient populations
