Be a member of the Oshawa Assembly Electrical Team - an integrated, technical organization consisting of members from Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality and Product Development organizations focused on problem solving the plant’s top external and internal quality problems.
Feed-back known root causes by working with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering as required to establish containments to increase plant eFTQ (electrical first time quality) and DRR (direct run rate) , driving issues to closure.
Use ECM (Engineering Change Management) to correctly understand electrical hardware/software/calibration parts usages and the scope of product changes contained within them.
Ensure PTR (production trial run) readiness by ensuring software parts are being retrieved properly by test tools from upstream systems prior to executing the PTR.
Ensure complete coordination of electronic hardware/software PTR’s and correctness by comparing ECR’s and DRE communication if required.
Maintain test software and parameters as released by AVG.
Supports meeting AVT (alignment vehicle test) and DVT (dynamic vehicle test) and Overall Plant eFTQ goals.
Use MERS ( Manufacturing Engineering Reporting System) /GSIP ( Global Standard Inspection Process) systems to correlate DVT failures to warranty reports and JD Power/Compass data.
Use MERS to identify and establish statistical controls to reduce product variation and identify WOW vehicles.
Maintain SME-level proficiency in vehicle electrical architectures and the diagnostic processes used to troubleshoot vehicles the plant environment.
Troubleshoot FLASH/STATIC/VAST/DVT vehicle failures using Red-X and other statistical methods when possible.
Create SPPS (supplier practical problem solving) records for Quality issues, and PRTS ( production resolution tracking system) for Engineering Issues. Provide documentation to support the issue being created to drive issues to closure.
Coordinate test equipment usage and process training (Best Practices) requirements to Manufacturing/Quality and Core Team. Provide support to General Assembly maintenance team and area skilled trades on EOL equipment.
Administer requirements of and ensure compliance to all related T&E and PCPs.
Plant floor support for flash, static, AVT and DVT testing and related equipment.
Some travel may be required in this role
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Sciences, or related) or technical certification along with minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Thorough understanding of vehicle electronics, vehicle diagnostics, and test equipment computer systems and software
Understanding of computer systems and software
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical ability
Ability to make decisions quickly with a high level of confidence

The Role
The Plant Assembly Verification Coordinator is a single-point assembly plant contact for the Assembly Verification Group (AVG). The role requires thorough understanding of vehicle electronics, vehicle diagnostics and test equipment computer systems/software. The role requires the skills relevant to diagnosis of vehicle-level/assembly verification test failures and assigning failure/defect ownership. Coordination/participation in problem solving activities (with proper documentation) with the responsible business units (Quality / Manufacturing / Product Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering) is a core function of this role.
