      Darigold is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to be a part of Darigold’s Portland team. The Maintenance Manager must possess the desire and ability to manager the maintenance and repair for all areas of the Plant. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading and developing a team of 36+ direct reports in a plant that operates 24/7. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with Plant Managers along with Production, Quality, and Safety Managers. This position reports to the Site Director.

      What you will do: (other duties as assigned)

      • Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
      • Oversee ammonia and glycol refrigeration systems.
      • Administer department budget within established guidelines.
      • Manage a safe working environment for all maintenance personnel.
      • Maintain plant quality performance standards, assuring compliance with all HACCP, FMSA standards in alignment with maintenance practices.
      • Work with Corporate Engineering to oversee Capital Expenditure items.
      • Provide emergency response.
      • Support and ensure necessary training to new and existing mechanics.
      • Supervise maintenance engineers ensuring collaborative relations with operations.
      • Ensure integration of maintenance, process controls and operations.
      • Deliver maintenance programs with an emphasis toward OEE based performance and industry KPI standards.
      • This position is responsible for following all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold’s Good Manufacturing Policy, in conformance with the position’s Standard Operating Procedures, and in accordance with facility training sessions and materials. The position is also required to report any concerns that may impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate supervisor, the Plant Quality Manager or the Plant Manager.

      What you will bring:

      • Dairy, beverage, packaging or process industry background preferred.
      • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanical systems, fluid processing, carpentry, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment and refrigeration systems.
      • Must have schedule flexibility to work during emergency situations, weekends and off shifts as necessary.
      • Prior experience managing in a 24/7 environment is a plus.
      • Experience managing in a union environment is preferred.

      What you must have:

      • Engineering Degree or related field. Dairy, Bottling, or Culture Industry experience could be considered in the absence of a degree.
      • 5-10 years of experience in the maintenance/engineering field
      • Supervisory experience 3-5 years
      • Experience in a capital project – handling vendors and contractors
      • Experience in Microsoft Office and CAD
      • Experienced with Process Control Systems
