Job Description
- Req#: DT-11910
- Plan & coordinate work with in-house skilled tradesman and contractors.
- Specify equipment and systems for plant infrastructure and facility processes.
- Provide technical assistance to solve problems with facility equipment and systems.
- Participate in teams and cross-functional groups.
- Manage challenging projects up to $3M.
- Estimate multi-disciplined projects and gain approvals.
- Develop, write, and present requests for capital funding.
- Originate bid packages and lead the review and awarding process.
- Design, specify, and order materials and equipment.
- Coordinate equipment installations.
- Responsible for documenting and updating plant drawings.
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Submitting Purchase Requisitions in CBFC.
- Creating maintenance requests in Maximo.
- Cover Project or Facility Supervisor absenteeism.
- Develop and implement productivity improvements.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies.
- Perform special projects as required.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology.
- Exposure to working in an industrial environment.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to solve problems.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with others.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to interpret drawings and schematics.
- Typically requires a 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with building and utility functions.
- Knowledge of building materials and applications.
- Experience with CBFC and Maximo
- Proficient in AutoCAD

Inside the Role
Detroit Diesel Corporation is a 3 million sq. ft. industrial facility with opportunities for a large variety of engineering work. This position primarily provides strategic and technical support for maintaining and improving the facility equipment and systems. Other engineering duties include planning, designing, and overseeing construction projects. Work is of a technical nature where independent judgment is used and decisions are made within the limits of general practice policies. This career path provides a favorable mix of desk and site work, in and outside of the building.We Take Care of Our Team
Position offers a starting salary range of $67,500.00 - $86,500.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience
