      THE POSITION

      Keyera is currently seeking a Plant Operator for our Simonette Gas Plant near Fox Creek, Alberta. This role will support the day-to-day operations of the plant, troubleshooting, optimization and tuning of the plant’s processes.

      The Plant Operator will work a 2 week on and 2 week off rotation, with onsite camp accommodations provided.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Assist with daily operations of the Simonette Gas Plant.
      • Responsible for daily operating assignments on plant equipment and processes.
      • Operate the facility in a safe, economical and efficient manner using quality principals.
      • Work with team on preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is running efficiently and safely.
      • Monitor facility readings, product sampling and quality control.
      • Assist with contractor, driver orientation and supervision for on-site operations.
      • Participate in review, modification or development of facility procedures.
      • Support engineering and maintenance teams with various projects.


      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar role within gas plant operations. Previous Sour Gas processing experience is considered a strong asset.
      • Diploma or Certificate in Power Engineering is an asset.
      • Fourth Class inter-provincial steam ticket is preferred.
      • Ability to provide a 5-year standard driver abstract with zero demerit points (clean driver’s abstract).
      • Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
      • Excellent team player with the ability to listen, learn and share knowledge.
      • Self-starter who is able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
      • Proven communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
      • Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail.
      • Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG and First Aid Certificates would be an asset.
      • This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate seal where the face piece of the equipment seals to the skin of the face.
      • A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).
