- Associate’s Degree in technical, electrical, engineering, computer information systems, or related field with two (2) or more years of applicable experience
- [OR] High School Diploma with six (6) or more years of applicable experience
- Experience in PC hardware and Software troubleshooting and diagnostics; automation, scripting, asset management, networking, active directory, SCCM
- Radio and wireless technology troubleshooting and diagnostics; installation, asset management, networking
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library
- Performs installation, configuration, advanced diagnostics, analysis, repairs, or replacement hardware for end user radios, base stations, cellular modems, bi-directional amplifiers, satellite comm. equipment, and related components. Ensures equipment is properly maintained and tested.
- Performs on-site RF and cellular coverage studies.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation including drawings, inventories, and instructional documents.
- Evaluates customers’ wireless and communications needs and recommends solutions.
- Provides highly technical (2nd Level) hardware and software break-fix support to end users for tickets escalated from the Service Desk, Information Security, or other support groups. Provides timely responses to client and management requests. Gives status updates on such requests on a regular basis.
- Assists end-users and IT specialists with 2nd and 3rd level technical support; Contributes knowledge and updated information to maintain the Help Desk SOPs and Training manuals for Tier I and Tier II support.
- Works with other groups to resolve technical problems that Tier I and Tier II are unable to resolve.
- Performs advanced diagnostics, analysis, repairs, or replacement hardware for PC’s, and laptops when Tier I/II are unable to restore functionality. Ensures equipment is properly maintained and patched. Follows set policies and procedures when assisting clients to ensure proper handling of requests.
- Monitors the Client Support ticket queue to ensure that tickets are addressed in a timely manner.
- Configures pcs, phones, and tablets for network access. Provides coaching and feedback to entry level technicians.
- Completes Life Cycle management for all end user computing devices. Assist with IT Asset Management responsibilities, which include updating and modifying asset records.
- Meeting and audio-visual support including VIP and Board of Directors support with afterhours coverage as needed.

Location: The successful candidate will be expected to work in a hybrid status of reporting to any Consumers Energy Service Center every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with home office flexibility on Wednesday and Friday.
We are looking for: Platform Engineer (RF Field Engineer)
This position is for an RF Field Engineer on the Wireless Connectivity Team and will be responsible for installation, support, and maintenance of end user land mobile radio equipment, radio infrastructure, cellular modem equipment, cellular booster infrastructure, satellite communications equipment, and other related technologies. This position will be the primary responsible party for on-site support within a region of the company’s service area, requiring work at various company locations and may require after-hours response.
Provides 2nd and 3rd Level technical support services to staff and customers on software systems and hardware products and maintaining associated documentation for both Field and Corporate Workers. Provides end user computing hardware Life Cycle management to meet business needs. Troubleshoots very difficult infrastructure problems which can involve other groups such as server, network, and Information Security. Utilizes automation to removed wasted effort and improver user experience. Responds and follows-up on internal and external customer support problems.
