      Position Description

      As a Plumber, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

      • Instaltion & Repair: Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, fixtures, and drainage systems across the campus.
      • Water Heater & System Maintenance: Maintain water heaters (gas and electric), circulation pumps, drinking fountains, and related systems.
      • Diagnose Plumbing Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and system malfunctions.
      • Disposal Systems: Install and maintain waste disposal, drainage, and sanitary systems, ensuring compliance with codes
      • Inspection: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to optimize plumbing system performance and ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety protocols, and company standards.
      • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency plumbing issues promptly, minimizing downtime and operational disruptions.

      Position Requirements

      This position requires the following skills and attributes:

      • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a plumber, with a focus on commercial buildings.
      • Proficiency in installing and repairing a wide range of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, gas lines, and other essential plumbing infrastructures. auto flush systems for toilets and urinals.
      • Strong understanding of commercial plumbing codes, local regulations, and industry best practices.
      • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications with accuracy.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills, troubleshooting abilities, and attention to detail.
      • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle tools, lift materials, and work in confined spaces or on elevated surfaces.
      • Familiarity with a variety of tools such as pipe cutters, wrenches, soldering equipment, snakes, jetters, and power tools.
      • Good communication skills for effectively interacting with customers, vendors, team members, and leadership.
      • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
      • Ability to work under minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.

      Preferred

      • Knowledge of sustainable plumbing practices or energy-efficient systems.
      • Experience in backflow prevention installation and maintenance.
      • Preferred certification in backflow testing or related specialized training.
      • Ability to provide guidance or mentorship to junior plumbing staff or apprentices.


      Benefits

      The base compensation range for this role is $29 - $32 / hour for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting.
