- Knowledge of planning, operational analysis and design development of container terminal operations and infrastructure improvements
- Ability to identify, analyze, and prepare terminal optimization plans including new container handling systems
- Familiarity with due diligence studies for new terminals, retrofit terminals and/or port systems
- Experience in port masterplanning and site selection studies
- Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments both independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Ability to isolate key issues and draw sound conclusions
- Proficiency in the use of Excel and PowerPoint
- Proactive, enquiring approach
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders of all levels
- A European language (in addition to English) is highly desirable
- Willingness to travel is also required
- BS in Civil Engineering or Planning; required
- 4-9 years of port planning, engineering and management experience; required

We are actively looking for a Port Planner to join our European Engineering team in either our UK offices (Farnham, London, or Exeter) or Spain Office (Valencia). The Port Planner will be responsible for planning, analysis, and design of terminal facilities, with a specific emphasis on container terminals, but also with an understanding of Ro-Ro, energy, breakbulk and bulk terminal operations, and wider port configuration aspects including coastal engineering and infrastructure selection.
