      Job summary

      As a KIMS Hospital Porter, you will play a huge part in providing an excellent patient experience and ensure consistently high standards of customer service. You will be required to work as part of a team to provide a 5* Portering service welcoming patients, visitors, consultants and staff around the hospital. This is a completely varied role for which we are seeking an enthusiastic team player, who is flexible in their working hours and passionate about providing excellent customer service all whilst walking on average 40 miles per week!

      Please note for this position we would be looking for a flexible individual who is available to work varied shifts including weekends, bank holidays and evenings between the hours of 7am – 9pm.

      Main duties of the job

      • The safe transportation of patients, equipment, pharmaceuticals, waste materials and specimens.
      • Welcoming all patients, visitors, consultants and staff to the reception area and providing direction to the hospital departments.
      • Assisting patients who are being discharged, liaising with clinical staff and being vigilant to patient’s conditions and needs.
      • Assisting staff with the movement and arrangement of furniture for meetings or events.
      • Participating as a member of the cardiac arrest team; transporting resuscitation trolleys and other equipment in response to emergencies.
      • Undertaking security duties within the hospital campus ensuring the hospital is secure and safe.
      • Ensuring that all enquiries are promptly passed to a relevant member of staff who is able to deal with the request.
