- Language Requirement: Designated Day 1 Ready - immediate requirement for language proficiency: French: oral, reading, writing required. English: oral, reading, writing required. Candidates must meet language requirement for position upon hire.
- Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the Ottawa Public Library's satisfaction.; Police record checks completed by a third-party company will not be accepted.

JOB SUMMARY
Ottawa Public Library (OPL) provides accessible, innovative library and information services throughout the city of Ottawa, that meet the unique needs of diverse communities, delivered through facility, mobile, and virtual channels.
You are responsible for planning, managing and assessing food, retail, and event services at Ādisōke; including leading the design and operations of the retail space (gift shop) You are responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external management and stakeholders, representing OPL interests and liaising with Library and Archives Canada (LAC) to ensure joint alignment.You are also responsible for managing the unit’s human and financial resources, and contracted services (such as food services).
This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate your hospitality and customer service experiences and skills in a library setting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a 3-year college or university degree in hospitality and tourism management, business administration or other related field
5 years of related experience in retail and foodservice operations, customer service, or related work experience, including a minimum of 2 years in the management of human and financial resources
