Safely perform several activities, including the operation and inspection of various power plant systems including boilers and associated equipment for waste processing and electric generation facility.
The plant operates 24-hours per day, 7-days per week. Employee will work a 12 hour shift schedule. Employee will work 5 shifts, have 2 days off, work 2 shifts and have 5 days off; rotating between days and nights on approximately a monthly basis..
The auxiliary operator’s work entails the completion of daily logs and operational assessment of plant equipment including pumps, fans, air compressors, electrical devices, and conveyor systems. This may also include the operation of bridge cranes which are used to maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel into the furnace, mixing refuse in the pit and managing the ash residue.
The Auxiliary operator needs perform these tasks safely and utilize any required safety equipment and PPE.
The preferred candidate will have operational experience in similar power plant or chemical process industries, the merchant marine or military trade school.
High School Diploma or GED.
Three (3) years related experience with high pressure boilers and electric generating equipment or formal technical or utility training.
Experience in water (chemical) testing
Perform some maintenance.
Crane/Heavy Equipment operation experience preferred
