      Summary Practice Nurse

      Kingsway Surgery is a friendly and forward-thinking GP practice serving a population of approximately 11,020 patients. Our experienced multidisciplinary team includes 8 GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 ANP, 1 HCA, 1 Phlebotomist, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Technician, a Physiotherapist, and a strong management and administrative team.

      We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Practice Nurse to join our clinical team. This is a key role involving the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. Duties include chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD), cervical screening, immunisations, wound care, health promotion, and patient education.

      The successful candidate will work both autonomously and collaboratively with our wider team and support our HCA and Phlebotomist. You should have excellent clinical and communication skills, be well-organised, and demonstrate a proactive approach to improving patient outcomes.

      Main duties of the job

      Job Description Practice Nurse

      Kingsway Surgery:

      We are seeking a skilled and motivated Practice Nurse to join our team. The role involves delivering evidence-based care, promoting health and wellbeing, and managing both acute and chronic conditions in a supportive primary care setting.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Support the Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) lead and ensure policy compliance.

      • Assist with the annual IPC statement and audits.

      • Deliver care plans for frail and housebound patients.

      • Assess patient needs and provide appropriate, evidence-based care.

      • Develop and implement health promotion and wellbeing programmes.

      • Manage and support patients with long-term conditions.

      • Provide routine and chronic disease care in line with NICE and NSF.

      • Prescribe medication under PGDs and review for compliance.

      • Offer guidance on medications, side effects, and dosage.

      • Coordinate travel medicine services and request pathology tests.

      • Deliver and oversee chronic disease clinics and refer as needed.

      • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with legislation.

      • Support team development and contribute to continuous improvement in patient care.

      Qualifications & Skills:

      • Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC registration.

      • Strong clinical knowledge and experience in primary care preferred.

      • Excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills.

      • Able to work independently and collaboratively.

      • Committed to ongoing professional development and high standards of care.
