Job Description

- Provide health advice and guidance to patients.
- Administer immunisations, injections, and vaccinations.
- Conduct health screenings, including lipid profiles, blood pressure checks, and cervical smears.
- Support and assist in specialist clinics such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, menopause, warfarin, minor surgery, and contraception.
- Perform ECGs and other routine monitoring procedures.
- Offer travel health advice.
- Diagnose and treat minor illnesses (following appropriate training).
- Carry out venepuncture and prepare pathology samples.
- Maintain and update health promotion literature and patient information.
- Input and manage patient data on the Practice clinical system.
- Utilise the clinical system for patient searches, clinic management, and recall processes.
- Manage long-term conditions, including asthma, diabetes, and COPD.
- Ensure adherence to infection control procedures.
- Clean and sterilise clinical equipment and work surfaces regularly.
- Maintain treatment room equipment, including testing and record-keeping.
