Are you a passionate and enthusiastic nurse looking to deliver excellent high-quality care to patients within primary care
We are looking for a General Practice Nurse on a permanent contract to join our friendly team here at the Clanfield Practice, who has an interest in respiratory and treatment room duties. Experience within a primary care setting is desirable, however this is not essential
Main duties of the job
RGN Qualified and have NMC registration
Ideally possess experience with managing Asthma and COPD and be enthusiastic and interested in delivering respiratory care.
Offer a wide range of nursing care provision to patients.
Deliver excellent and safe patient care, focusing upon supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring long term conditions, health prevention and treatment room duties.

Part of the East Hants PCN offering supportive roles with a Paramedic, a team of Social Prescribers, Clinical Pharmacists and Mental Health
The Home Visiting Service carry out most of our acute home visits

Experience of working in a primary care environment desirable but not essential
Experience of working autonomously
Experience of working as a practice nurse or community nurse desirable but not essential
Experience of infection prevention and control measures
Clinical knowledge in the following:
Wound care/removal of sutures and staples
ECGs
Venepuncture
New patient medicals
Immunisations (routine, childhood and travel)
Womens health (cervical cytology, contraception, etc.)
Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly
Travel medicine
Chronic disease management awareness desirable but not essential for:
Diabetes
Hypertension
CHD
Asthma
Spirometry
Understanding the importance of evidence-based practice
Understand the requirement for PGDs and associated policy
Ability to record accurate clinical notes
Ability to work within own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to GPs
Chaperone procedure
Broad knowledge of clinical governance
Knowledge of public health issues in the local area
Awareness of issues within the wider health arena
Knowledge of health promotion strategies
