      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Manage and oversee pre-award activities for sponsored projects across various University departments
      - Review and provide institutional endorsement for all proposal submissions routed through the AURA Grants system
      - Interpret sponsor guidelines and assist with grant and contract activities to ensure compliance
      - Facilitate communication with external funding sources and act as a liaison between sponsors and the University
      - Lead and coordinate special projects and presentations to improve pre-award policies and processes

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Minimum education: College or university degree in a related field
      - 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline, particularly in sponsored research administration
      - Knowledge of compliance regulations and grant management processes
      - Strong written and verbal communication skills
      - Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in pre-award and post-award management within an academic environment
      - Familiarity with the Uniform Guidance and other relevant regulations
      - Proficiency in University of Chicago systems such as Huron Research Suite and Oracle Cloud
      - Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe suite
      - Positive service-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
