What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and assess student career interests and provide insights on in-demand jobs
- Guide students on postsecondary education options and facilitate visits to college support services
- Teach critical workplace readiness skills and assist with transportation planning
- Collaborate with local educational agencies and businesses to create work-based learning experiences
- Promote self-advocacy and facilitate peer mentoring opportunities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related area
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience, including at least two years in teaching or counseling in Missouri secondary schools
- Current MO teaching certificate or substitute teacher certification required
- Strong skills in communication, organization, relationship-building, and leadership
- Must reside in the designated service area and be willing to work from a home office
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Education or a related field
- Experience with transition-age youth and familiarity with disability programs
- Preference for Special Education certification
