Amica Mutual Insurance Company seeks Principal Data Engineer in Lincoln, RI. Duties: Evangelizing effective data management practices and promoting better understanding of data and analytics. Defining, developing, and executing strategies to implement and enhance an enterprise data ecosystem that supports organizational goals. Identifying data-driven business opportunities and recommending analytic projects to leaders. Interfacing with and gathering requirements from key business stakeholders, IT experts and subject-matter experts to plan and deliver superior analytics and data science solutions that drive business value. Collaborating with data scientists, data analysts and other data consumers on analytical solutions and models they've developed to optimize them for data quality, security and governance and deploy them to production. Demonstrating strong business acumen and understanding of insurance concepts. Prioritizing, scoping and managing data engineering projects and the corresponding key performance indicators (KPIs) for success.

Position Requires Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupations. Must have at least 5 years of experience with the following skills: Programming language (Python, Java); SQL (Teradata, Redshift, Postgres, Athena); AWS Services (S3, Glue, Lambda, EC2, Athena, QuickSite); Erwin Data Model; Database management system software (Amazon, Dynamo, Apache Hive, ElasticSearch); Object or component-oriented development software (Apache Spark, Python, R, Scala); Database User interface and query software (AWS/EC2, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud EC2, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Web Services AWS software, Apache Hive); Storage networking software (Amazon Simple Storage Service S3); Business intelligence and data analysis software – MicroStrategy, Tableau, Quicksite; and Teradata Fastload, Teradata Parallel Transporter, Teradata Tpump, Teradata SQL, Teradata BTEQ.
