INTRODUCTION:

ABC Fitness Solutions is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer. We develop our software solutions in an agile, dynamic environment, and we constantly strive to use the best technologies to achieve our purpose. ABC Fitness Solutions is looking to expand our DevOps team with highly motivated and talented engineers who are passionate about engineering velocity and automation. ABC has built a modern and cloud native architecture using cloud native tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Kafka on Amazon Web Services. We support a large development team developing a new application written in Java and Node.JS. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Support and improve our automation and developer experience using Kubernetes on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Embrace feedback from our engineering teams to improve their SDLC with automation

• Work with ABC Security Operations to ensure security and compliance standards in AWS; standards such as PCI, SOC2, and ISO 27001

• Debug, research, and investigate issues in development and production environments

• Document and manage tasks through centralized task management (Jira)

• Provide guidance for development staff on cloud native and secure coding best practices

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Strong skills in a containerized, microservices based infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)

• Knowledgeable with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Helm, etc.)

• Experience building and maintaining modern Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (Jenkins, Spinnaker, etc.)

• 3 or more years of experience supporting a highly available, large scale production environment

• Track record of successful practical problem solving, excellent written and interpersonal communication, and documentation skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

• Experience in participating and leading in a remote-first work environment

• 10+ years of relevant experience, less years required with a degree

AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE:

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Certification

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional Certification

• Having been a part of a successful DevOps or Platform Engineering team

• Experience with end-to-end testing of Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform

• Experience in and securing a compliant environment (PCI, HIPAA, Hi-Trust)

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in the United States and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for U.S. based candidates for this position is $115,000-- $172,000 USD annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
