What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Implement employee relations strategies, programs, and policies to foster positive relationships between employees and management
- Investigate formal employee complaints and recommend appropriate actions
- Advise managers on employee performance and conduct issues, including corrective actions and termination recommendations
- Lead local and cross-functional employee relations projects to address and resolve issues
- Mentor staff and business partners on compliance, policy, and procedures while maintaining collaborative partnerships
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, English Literature, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Employment Law, or related field
- In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant experience is acceptable
- Strong understanding of employee relations processes and best practices
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience handling complex leave of absence matters and workplace accommodations
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and compliance regulations
- Proven ability to facilitate mediation and conflict resolution between employees and management
- Experience leading training sessions for managers on employee relations topics
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk and escalate issues effectively
