      About this role:

      Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to implement the Data At Rest Encryption (DARE) initiative. This group will develop and implement a sustainable framework that contains the processes and controls that scans and identifies structured data. This will allow DARE to be enabled for restricted and confidential data.

      We require an experienced Principal Engineer in data, crypto, and workflow automation technologies. This individual must have a proven track record pioneering multiple breakthroughs and must have experience building novel solutions that utilize emerging technologies.


      In this role, you will:

      • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
      • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
      • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
      • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
      • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
      • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
      • Design, develop, implement and maintain architecture solutions and model systems in support of enterprise efforts that align and comply to enterprise architecture
      • Provide expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing solutions that meet business requirements and develops use cases, user stories, process flows to define process and functional requirements
      • Translate advanced technology experience and in-depth knowledge of the organization’s tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
      • Adopt new methods, tools, and technology to enhance effectiveness and provides vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
      • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization


      Required Qualifications, US:

      • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
      • 5+ Years of experience with Python or Java
      • 5+ years of experience delivering large scale platforms
      • 5+ years of experience with Database tecnologies (Postgres, Oracle, sqlite, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, DynamoDB, MySQL, SQL, PL/SQL, TSQL, Pro*C, Neo4J)
      • 5+ years of experience with SharePoint
      • 4+ years of experience in database modeling
      • 4+ years of experience with NoSQL


      Desired Qualifications:

      • Vast experience in disparate database technologies with proven record successfully integrate various systems.
      • Experience in Containerization and Kubernetes.
      • Full Stack platform design and engineering experience with proven record of successful deliveries especially in data pattern matching
