- Partner independently with the site function managers and corporate business partners
- Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information
- Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports
- Prepare and distribute financial metric packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance
- Perform financial analysis and recommend alternative courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools and creative problem solving
- Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level
- Develop and utilize sound financial processes and maintain effective control environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field
- 5+ years’ progressive experience in a similar role
- Excellent technical skills (modeling, macros, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong financial analysis
- Excellent communication
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adhere to tight deadlines, attention to detail
- Must have highly developed customer relationship skills with strong service orientation
- Holds self-accountable to a performance metric culture building performance excellence
- Team orientated
- CPA and/or MBA
- Experience in Hyperion, SAP

About the role:
The Principal Financial Analyst Role will be responsible for supporting the Quincy Distribution Center, extending to the US Distribution Network and Global Logistic Support. Additionally, this role will also be a key support to the Network 26 initiative, overseeing site activities regarding Ideal Product Flow and other programs designed to optimize the supply chain of Boston Scientific. Responsibilities include facilitating forecasts and strategic planning, month-end close activities, metric reporting, and financial compliance controls. This position requires an outgoing candidate that can work independently, while building strong relationships with business partners within the site, network and corporate functions with a goal optimize financial planning, reporting and analysis. Performs financial analysis and controls, utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques. Recommends alternative courses of action.
