      Principal Medical Writer
      Locations: London, Chester or Manchester
      Hybrid working (combining office [minimum of 2 days] and home working)

      inScience Communications is Springer Healthcare’s internal medical communications agency. We provide strategic and tactical global medical communications services to the pharmaceutical industry. Our primary offices are based in London, Chester and Manchester in the UK and in Philadelphia in the USA.

      We’re looking for a talented Principal Medical Writer to lead and manage the delivery of the scientific content across a broad range of medical communications.

      You’ll enjoy a diverse and varied role that includes mentoring, applying your therapeutic knowledge and providing editorial advice to a variety of stakeholders and publication plans and/or communication programmes.       You will lead and manage delivery of high quality scientific content of medical communications within accounts. In addition, you will provide advanced levels of strategic and tactical advice to clients; therapeutic area advice to relevant account teams; editorial advice to the wider scientific services team, the client services team and management team; and input into business development initiatives.

      Main Duties

      • To be part of a multi-functional, client-facing team
      • Create copy across a range of medical communications activities, from scientific publications and presentations to marketing-based pieces: all to meet client briefs and within current industry guidelines
      • Interact with medical experts in a given therapeutic area
      • Keep abreast of advances and developments in a given therapeutic area and input knowledge into strategic plans and tactical outputs

      Requirements

      Essential

      • Proven writing experience in a medical communications agency or the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
      • Proven experience and confident in interacting with clients and medical experts , flexible and able to work as part of a team
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
      • Proven organisation/time management skills and the ability to be proactive and use your initiative to get results
      • Degree in life science or equivalent experience
      • Highly computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

      Desired

      • Degree in pharmacy or medicine
      • Higher degree (MSc, Phd)
      • CMPP qualification
