Support valuation analysis and financial modeling in support of renewable energy program structures across the development and acquisition.
Support analysis of no carbon and other low-carbon generation assets as it relates to the strategic Company and Customer initiatives.
Support business unit capital planning and financial reporting, serving as liaison to subject matter expects external to other departments within the company.
Lead financial modeling to support the process for approval of transactions.
Participate in industry activities to maintain business relationships, knowledge in current market conditions, transaction structures, and to identify opportunities.
Support when needed the analysis, structuring, and strategic assessment of customer wholesale energy sales opportunities to provide incremental EBIT for regulated operations.
Perform the analysis and structuring of wholesale purchases via Request For Proposals (RFP) and other corporate activities to procure purchase power contracts and generation acquisitions to serve retail and wholesale load obligations.
Perform the analysis and structuring of renewable generation procurement including purchase power, self-build, and project acquisitions to meet renewable portfolio standards, qualifying facilities, and corporate strategic initiatives.
Support Integrated Resource Planning activities including self-build generation economic analysis, revenue requirements development, and wholesale and renewable activity modeling.
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business or related field and 10+ years related work experience
Masters degree in Business Administration
Professional Engineer
CPA
Expertise in levelized cost of energy evaluation for renewables
Expertise in analytical, problem solving and financial evaluation skills
Expertise in regulated utility financial operations including rate making, capital and cost recovery
Expertise in wholesale customer financial analysis
Resource planning and system production costing
Expertise in advanced financial engineering knowledge
Recognized expert in the field of financial engineering
Energy industry trading and marketing experience
Experienced spokesman with regulatory agencies
Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the assigned Duke Energy facility.

This position is responsible for performing specialized structuring and financial analysis required to price, structure, and evaluate wholesale energy sales opportunities to generate incremental EBIT for regulated utility operations. Evaluation of wholesale energy sales includes quantifying company risk exposure and providing recommendations to maximize shareholder value and company earnings. Responsible for performing the internal and external business case analysis for the development of regulated self build generation and acquisition of purchase power, existing generation assets, and renewable generating resources. Provide economic and analysis support for regulated Integrated Resource Planning activities.
