What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform diagnosis and procedural coding as assigned for individual patient health information
- Ensure accurate submission of claims by applying current coding and billing requirements
- Monitor coding performance and resolve denials related to coding errors
- Educate providers and office staff on documentation, coding, and billing changes to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and staff to ensure accurate coding practices

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: Commensurate education qualifying for Certification Exam(s) related to ICD-10, CPT, and other specialty certifications
- Certified Coder through AAPC, AHIMA, BCHH-C, HCCS for Home Health, or National Healthcare Association; those without certification must have at least two years of related work experience and obtain certification within one year of hire
- 0-2 years of related experience with a thorough understanding of medical records and coding
- Basic computer and encoder skills
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

- Ability to maintain continuing education credits for credentialed coders
