Job Description

- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Be a team player with the common goal of safe production through plant reliability, process reliability and efficiency, and safety by design
- Act as a technical lead for projects in the processing plant
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and quantity of all production, identifying opportunities for improvements
- Implement improvement opportunities with urgency, following change management practices
- Monitor performance of individual circuits and systems, and recommending or implementing efficiencies
- Balance multiple objectives and communicate status updates across site teams
- Working with operations to ensure best practices are being followed through daily interaction
- University degree in Mineral, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering, or other related discipline with relevant experience
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration with EGBC
- Preferred minimum three years of technical experience in a related processing environment
- Working knowledge of process analysis methodology

Reporting to the Senior Engineer Supervisor, Processing, the Process Engineer-in-Training, is responsible for identifying and leading improvement initiatives, and optimizing plant performance. The successful candidate will work closely with operators, maintainers and supervisors to improve performance, analyze process results, and perform process and lab-based tests as part of effective change management.
To be successful, we are looking for someone who has strong communication and organizational skills and is eager to spend time in the field with operators, and maintainers to identify issues and opportunities. A self-motivated individual with a keen desire to take on new challenges and think outside the box.

Teck employees receive a competitive compensation package that includes, but is not limited to, base salary plus the following benefits:
Salary Range: $101,000 - $125,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
