US Farathane is seeking an experienced Process Technician - Extrusion. Process Technician - Extrusion will act as a company representative, directly responsible for proper set up of extrusion lines and downstream equipment. Able to accurately tear down and set up machines and tooling to changeover extrusion lines following all required procedures and standard practices to ensure a smooth production run. Startup extrusion lines within acceptable scrap limits. Able to accurately and quickly trouble shoot problems during production runs so that scrap and lost line time is minimized. Follow all established guidelines for safety. Train line operators on how specific production jobs are quality checked. Train new extrusion technician. Schedule: Monday-Friday with overtime available. (Overtime and weekends may be required) 3rd shift is 10:30pm - 6:30am ($1.50 shift premium) US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensure all inline equipment is configured, positioned and functioning properly including waters tanks, printers, cutters, pullers, misters, presses and heaters prior to startup.
- Review all applicable quality alerts prior to start up.
- Startup line and obtain first article approval within acceptable scrap limits.
- Ensure all required machine guarding is in place.
- Operate line and pack parts as required.
- Load or change out material as required.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation including startup/shutdown checklist, process monitoring, in process check sheets, production recording and scrap accounting.
- Communicate production and quality issues/concerns with Production Supervisor/Lead whenever necessary.
- Red tag any tooling or equipment that is not functioning and return to maintenance or tool room areas.
- Immediately notify Production Supervisor of any discrepancies to established quality checks.
- Communicate production and quality issues/concerns with associates, supervisors, leads and incoming shift extrusion technicians.
- Train and mentor apprentice technicians as assigned.
- Conduct new process development as assigned.
- Update set up sheets based on process improvements.
- Participate in team problem solving activities (i.e., 8D’s, communication meetings, etc.).
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e., Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc.).
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.
- Complete tech log daily.
