      Pay Range

      $87,450 - $108,564 Annually

      Job Description

      We have openings for Procurement Support Specialists in Supply Chain Management. In this role you will provide specialized support to the procurement function at LLNL and perform a variety of functions in support of an award-winning procurement organization. Your duties may include supporting (a) the administration and closeout of subcontracts and agreements, (b) management of a procurement supplier database, (c) administration of the Purchasing card program, and (d) coordination with internal stakeholders. This position will be in the Supply Chain Management Department.

      You will

      • Use comprehensive knowledge of the procurement function and a general knowledge of related areas, to assesses procurement requirements and deliverables, interprets, and applies related policies and procedures to develop, approve, and implement actions, and monitors adherence to procurement policies, procedures, methods and practices.
      • Research and resolve multi-faceted and/or escalated problems and questions regarding various procurement functions; analyzes a variety of factors to develop solutions where information is available but may need clarification.
      • Maintain procurement forms, records, databases, and documents, where applicable; prepare reports and conduct in-depth analysis for management decision-making. Prepare summary of results for management decision making.
      • Frequently communicate with internal customers and suppliers. Coordinate major components of planning activities for procurements; compile and analyze data; prepare reports for use in daily operations and planning.
      • Assist with the development of recommendations and process improvements for various procurement functions.
      • Administer established metrics for Supply Chain Management. Report findings to management, collaborate on solutions and initiate corrective actions.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
      • Experience and/or ability to interpret and adhere to complex technical and/or operational policies and procedures.
      • Experience coordinating multiple work activities, workflow, and multi-faceted processes for a procurement function..
      • Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills necessary to independently advise, resolve issues, recommend, and approve appropriate actions to implement solutions related to various aspects of contract award and administration.
      • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with a diverse disciplines and work environment, including actively participate in discussions of technical or operational nature with various external and internal personnel, including suppliers, requesters, finance and contracting personnel as well as p, all levels of management.
      • Interpersonal skills with ability to work independently as well as function within a team to accomplish goals and objectives of the Department.
      • Experience gathering, tracking, maintaining, and preparing reports and performance data related to purchasing activities.
      • Experience and/or ability to mentor and train others on projects and tasks and assist others.

      Qualifications We Desire

      • Familiarity with procurement regulations.
      • Familiarity with electronic purchasing systems.
      • Skilled in Excel and TEAMS.

      Position Information

      This is a Flexible Term appointment, which is for a definite period not to exceed six years. If final candidate is a Career Indefinite employee, Career Indefinite status may be maintained (should funding allow).
