Product Development Engineer

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Product Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Initiate and complete technical activities in support of new product development
• Validation/qualification of new products, processes and equipment
• Working collaboratively and communicating results with your teams to drive innovation
• Documentation of experimental data, analyzing and interpreting results of technical work
• Establishing and engaging your internal and external network of resources to facilitate completion of projects

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Materials Science fields.
• Two (2) years of combined technology or product development experience with resins, adhesives, ceramics, nonwovens, composites and/or abrasives in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Materials Science from an accredited institution
• Experience in technology or product development including phase-gate commercialization processes
• Process development, scale-up and implementation into a manufacturing environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication, networking, interpersonal and leadership skills

Work location:

• Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 3 days per week)

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic and international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $95,825 - $117,120, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
