      Are you a legal professional interested in venturing into product management? Are you a product manager with an interest in the law? Join our team as a Product Manager for Westlaw and help to transform the legal research landscape. This role is pivotal in enhancing the Westlaw user experience and content as it evolves to include state of the art gen-AI for legal research.

      We are seeking a candidate with a sense of curiosity with how AI and advances in technology and user experience can bring new levels of simplicity and effectiveness to the nuances of legal research. This candidate can have a background in product management or the legal industry.

      About the Role

      In this opportunity as Product Manager – Westlaw ANZ, you will:

      • Innovate and Lead: Drive the development of AI-enhanced legal research features, focusing on LLM and agentic-based generative AI technologies.

      • Improve and evolve: As Agile Product Owner define stories and acceptance criteria for new development and the resolution of bugs. Work as part of a dynamic team using Agile methodologies to rapidly evolve Westlaw.

      • Research Excellence: Participate in a team conducting in-depth legal research using Westlaw and other platforms, creating best-practice research examples to enhance AI and other Westlaw functionalities.

      • Collaborative Development: Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Labs teams to develop and refine AI-driven legal research tools and Westlaw features.

      • Quality Assurance: Define acceptance criteria for new features and work with Quality Engineers to ensure enhancements function as designed.

      • User Engagement: Work directly with Westlaw users to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into product development.

      About You

      You’re a fit for the role of Product Manager – Westlaw ANZ, if you have the following required qualifications:

      • A law degree or a combined law degree, or a degree in library science/information management/information technology or UX/HCI qualifications.

      • 2+ years of experience in a legal setting, such as a law firm, in-house legal department, or professional services role (e.g., solicitor, barrister, library/legal research/knowledge management), or experience in Product Management and Agile development.

      • Usability and design professionals with HCI qualifications and experience in the legal domain either from law firm practice or developing law-based user experiences are also encouraged to apply.

      • Exceptional research skills with expertise in online search languages.

      • Interest in creating and refining LLM prompts and data indexes.

      • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong grasp of legal terminology.

      • Outstanding interpersonal and team facilitation skills.

      • Enthusiastic about analysing data and legal research outcomes.

      • Known as an early adopter, passionate about technology and the opportunities that AI present to the Australian legal industry.

      • Possessing widespread interests and a curiosity about the unknown, you are eager to deep dive on a variety of topics and issues.

      • Skilled in crafting search strategies and interpreting complex data results.

      • Excited to work in an agile software development environment.

      • A proactive self-starter who excels in both independent and collaborative settings. You thrive on working in small teams working together to ensure work product is honed to the highest levels of accuracy and quality.
