      Multiple Positions

      Salary Range: $97, 211 - $129,595

      Location: Preferably Saskatchewan, May also be in Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia

      Work hours: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week)

      Work Location: Hybrid or Remote

      GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

      Responsible for collaborating with business and IT leaders to develop product roadmaps and drive products and features from concept to launch in an agile environment. Reviews business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks. It includes developing, owning, and executing the product roadmap, working with user-focused departments to define the self-service user experience, support, and monitoring for customers. Translates product features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria, and prioritizing and maintaining the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholders (business, customers, partners, and IT). The Product Owner defines and executes the go-to-market plan, working to ensure that business areas have what they need to be successful.

      Responsible for guiding the day-to-day agile development teams to ensure detailed specifications for the product features are clearly understood by the teams and represents the team in front of stakeholders, or users. This role is expected to solve product-related problems, make decisions, and complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.

      Liaises with business areas and Business Relationship Managers to identify corporate business requirements, changes required to business processes, and apply this information to make informed decisions on the product delivery. This role is key to leading within an agile environment, introducing agile mindsets to the organization and in bridging continuous improvement objectives between business areas and IT.

      KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

      Product & Solution Delivery

      • Defines, plans, and prioritizes deliverables in the product backlog balancing business, technical, customer, and stakeholder needs.

      • Assess value, prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work is focused on those with maximum value, aligned to business strategy.

      • Oversees backlog management, sprint planning, and elaboration of the user stories and validates stories meet the acceptance criteria.

      • Ensures appropriate acceptance tests are performed and complied with the Definition of Done.

      • Provides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals.

      • Keeps business sponsor informed of delivery progress and issues.

      • Produces the demo for the program stakeholders.

      • Accountable for delivery outcomes; ensuring they are solution, technology and team focused.

      • Manages multiple business stakeholders, resolving conflict as required for successful implementation of outcomes.

      • Manages the product lifecycle with respect to the onboarding processes, upgrades, addition/deprecation of features, and retirement of a product.

      • Actively manages the agile development team related to delivery outcomes.

      • Maintains and communicates the vision of what should be built to the agile development team; ensures team has adequate number of tasks to work on.

      Strategic Program Planning

      • Works directly with Business leaders and Business Relationship Managers Systems to assist with decision-making and sequencing of critical technological infrastructure that will host new functionality and outlines release plans.

      • Contributes to the product vision, roadmap and ROI ensuring alignment to Target Operating Models.

      • Champions the organization’s long-term vision, guiding principles, objectives and success measures and ensures alignment to Transformation plans.

      • Liaises with key stakeholder areas impacted or responsible for delivery in Digital Transformation to ensure alignment with vision, objectives, delivery approaches, etc.

      • Provides governance as member of operational governance committee structures.

      Leadership

      • Actively contributes to and supports a culture of a high performing workforce.

      • Participates in divisional succession plans, ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development in others.

      • Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.

      Corporate Management

      • Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate, strategic and divisional strategies.

      • Manages risk in area of authority.

      • Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

      • Four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as business or computer science.

      • Five years’ experience leading or managing IT projects with increasing responsibility in the insurance industry.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

      • Knowledge of agile program and project management methodologies and techniques required to plan, manage and execute programs and projects within an agile environment.

      • Superior knowledge in communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills.

      • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to details.

      • Knowledge of the services provided by the business, partner agencies and associations.

      • Broad knowledge and applied skill in working across multiple product lines and insurance distribution models.

      • Knowledge of procedures and practices in business operations
